There will be an Advanced/Training event this Sunday, March 29, at Umstead Whispering Pines. (I-40 entrance to Umstead, then a right turn before the parking lot, then another right turn through the gate).

As is usual with the Advanced Events, this event is for members only, and there will only be advanced courses (Brown, Green, and Red). You must pre-register by Friday in order to have a map printed for you.

Starts will occur from 11:00am until 2:00pm; as ususal, the course will close at 3:00pm.

The park has requested that we keep the gate closed. (No one except for our club is supposed to park in the Whispering Pines area this Sunday, and it causes trouble for the park rangers after we leave if there are other vehicles parked in the area.)  Please be certain to close the gate after you pass through it, both when arriving and when leaving.

The course is by Josef Trzicky. (I had another course designed for the event, but then Josef showed me this one at Schenck and it was too interesting to pass up.)  Lengths are 3.6km, 5.7km, and 7.4km with a fair amount of elevation.
