On Saturday May 22nd and Sunday May 23rd we will have an open orienteering event at Carolina North Forest (CNF) in Chapel Hill. Courses will be the same both days. The event is open to runners of all experience levels. If you are new to the sport, we recommend you visit BOK’s Newcomer Information for videos and other useful info that will introduce you to orienteering.

Everyone must pre-register for this event before Thursday May 20th at 5:00pm so that we know how many maps to print.  Registration is now closed.

Courses: Red – 6.5km, Green – 5.5km, Brown – 3.7km, Orange – 3.5km, Yellow – 2.6km, White – 1.9km

Check-in at Seawell Elementary school’s parking lot (9115 Seawell School Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516) to receive your map.

Note that we will not have access to the school or bathroom facilities, so plan accordingly.

We will implement the following procedures to help with social distancing.

1.  When you register, you must select a specific 30-minute start window between 10.00 AM and 12:00 PM.  When 5 people have chosen a window, it will be closed. The courses close at 2.00 PM

2.  There will be no beginner class and no registration forms.

3.  All courses will have a remote start and finish.

4.  Please consider wearing a mask when you are not on your course.

Participants will be asked to sign CNF’s Indemnity Waiver and CNF’s Participant Guidelines. We will have copies to sign during check-in. Copies here if you wish to review prior.

See you at the event!
