Beginning Radio Orienteering Classes
Learn Radio Orienteering (ARDF) like the pros learned it. Nadia Scharlau got her start in ARDF at age 13 and went on to become a world champion, and taught classes to beginners who went on to become world champions themselves. She still uses the same no-frustration step-by-step approach by which she learned the sport 40+ years ago. Now you can experience it too.
Classes are free, but you need to register in our store.
Nadia will hold three class sessions: March 19, March 26, and April 2 from noon to 3 PM at Umstead State Park West (35.846620, -78.777464). These classes are for those who are new to the sport and would like to find out how it is played. All necessary equipment will be provided. New concepts will be introduced in sequence at each session, but if you can’t attend all three sessions just come when you can. Previously-covered concepts will be reviewed at each session, so you’ll be able to jump right in.
