Registration for this event is closed.

On Sunday, 17 September, we will have an event at White Pines Nature Preserve, a 275 acre greenspace in Chatham County, managed by Triangle Land Conservancy.  The meet is open to any orienteer who has successfully completed an advanced course (i.e., orange, brown, green, red, or blue).    Start any time between 10:00 AM and noon. Read details about the event format below, and then register hereRegistration will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 15.

If you haven’t already done so, now is a great time to purchase a 2023/2024 annual pass. The pass will cover your entry fee for events from September 2023 to September 2024. The pass costs $45 for an individual or $65 for a family, and you can purchase it from our online store, here.

Because of the small size of the Preserve, the event will offer three loop courses, with map exchanges between the loops.  There will be a 2.1km, 3.3km, and 3.7km loop, all at the “expert” level.  Everyone will do the 3.7km loop as well as any additional loops (if any) that they register for.  Three loop combinations will be offered: 3.7km (brown), 3.7+2.1=5.8km (green), and 3.7 + 2.1 + 3.3=9.1km (red).  Those who do multiple loops will do them in a random order.

The Preserve is located at 548 S Rocky River Rd, Sanford, NC.  Immediately on entering the Preserve, turn left into the parking lot (GPS coordinates = 35.613548, -79.164423).  Map handout, start, and finish will be on the south side of this parking lot. Please note that there are no bathroom facilities at the park.
