Feb 8 Bond Park Sprints
Now that the winter weather is finally easing up a bit, it’s a good time to get back outside and join us for open sprints at Bond Park in Cary on Sunday, February 8.
This event is open to all skill levels. Start anytime between 11 am and 1pm. Courses close at 2pm.
There will be 2 sprint courses available covering two different areas of the park, each approximately 2.5km. You can run one or both. You can also just try and find as many controls as possible on the Explorer Course.
Registration and starts will be at the Community Center parking area (https://maps.app.goo.gl/j1gr8Wh9Div4dof5A). There may be other events in progress, so consider parking at the Senior Center or other lots if parking is tight.
This event will also serve a second purpose, as we’re intentionally placing many of the controls near the Bond Park permanent course control locations. This will give club members a chance to get fresh eyes on those locations so we can consider improvements in the coming months. Any observations are very welcome, either during or after the event!

Hi team,
My son is a Scout and looking for an opportunity to complete an orienteering course (1-mile minimum) for a rank advancement requirement. Several scouts from our group have participated in some of your recent events and have all had a great time.
My son is a beginner. We’ve noted that some of your events have included a bit of a tutorial on getting started. If we can attend your event on Feb 8, would their be an opportunity to for us to get a little training and guidance to get started and hopefully have a successful go?
Thanks so much for any info you can share!
Best,
David
