Night Orienteering at Bond Park. This is a members-only event, so registration is required.

Please sign up by 4PM on Friday, so I know how many maps to print.

If you do not own a stick, you can still rent one.

Please park at the Bond Park Community Center, off of High House Rd. in Cary. Do NOT park by the lake, the park will close the main gate.

We will start at 7:00PM # (that means SHARP). We will gather in the parking lot around 6:45PM.

The format is the usual Score-O: there will be a mass start, and you need to be back before the clock expires, or you will be penalized for each minute you are late:

• 3 points for the first minute
• 5 points for each additional minute

You can choose between the “short” course (45 minutes on the Northern section of the map) and the “long” course (60 minutes on the whole map).

There will be a total of 30 controls, with varying number of points, depending on the proximity to the finish and on the difficulty to approach it. There will also be several controls with negative score, that do not show up on the map – do NOT pick them up! They are there to make sure you pay attention to the map (and punish you if you don’t).

Forecasting clear weather, it should be a lot of fun!
