Financial Report

• A-Meet: US Radio Championships
  • 7k in, 3.6k out. Profits go towards transmitters / receivers
  • 5k grant from OUSA if we need to use it
• BOK store: Radio clothes, BOK clothes, transmitters / receivers
  • Figure out a way to make them available for people at meets
• Bank expenses: mostly PayPal fees
• OUSA Charter: $2 per start, $20 recharter fee
• Printing maps: ~$3454.49
• Software: OCAD for Dave, Condes

Balance sheet

• ~$8k more compared to last year
• Significant amount of money in checking account, we need to pay for radio-o kits
• Discussing saving radio-o money by doing both orienteering and radio on the same shelter rental
  • Very physical to do both
• We have made 7k overall, so the ~$100/radio event shelter rental is minimal

Mapping

• Will Dickenson is planning to begin mapping Raven Rock this winter.
  • 14 sq km @ $1500 per sq km for a project total of $21,000
  • Middle section is the most used; we will start with those 5 sq km
  • Will reevaluate after we run a few events in the middle section
  • We can then ask for Umstead or we can complete Raven Rock
• Payment for local club mapping
  • For local volunteers whom we may consider compensating
  • Joseph suggests if a person is mapping a significant area, we should pay $500/sq km. This may encourage more people into mapping. Some people have been doing it for a few years, so we should consider retroactively paying
    • Cane Creek: 4 sq km, West Point on Eno: 2.5km
    • Ian seconds

Equipment

• Ian is preparing the new laptop for use.  The new tablet and printer have been in use for several months.
• Disposition of old serial download and printer
• Small black box uses. Printer rolls? Spare control(s)?
  • Joseph to ask on ClubNet – maybe someone needs the old printer and USB download box

Event procedures

• Course consulting for local events
  • Bring a new perspective to courses
  • Use the course guidelines for difficulty level
• Does anyone want to teach a course for:
  • Yellow to Orange
  • Orange to Brown
    • Event director will ask for help teaching one of these
    • Can be at an open event or at an advanced event
• Instead of duplicating event information ecwid only include a link to the invitation article. 
• Reformatter: don’t select all fields (Mihai to document)

Ecwid Subscription

• We are renewing our subscription to Ecwid to Dec 2026
• Changes to EventReg are underway – possibly for 2027
• OUSA is trying to get started with Sport:80  Could have good features for BOK

Radio-O

• Integrating Radio-O with some of our orienteering events
• Slinger kits will be ready by years end / first couple of years
  • BOK committed to purchasing 30
  • Start with 12 in 2026
    • Who wants to build a kit?
