Gray Owl 4/19/20 ARDF Results
We had another perfect ARDF event. This time we used, for the first time, transmitters and antennas that were built by Charles. The event came off without a hitch. The antennas are unique.
About a year ago I wondered if we could have antennas that didn’t need a ground wire. This wire needs to lay on the ground where competitors unknowingly kick it, disconnecting it from the transmitter. This causes the signal to become much weaker. Charles and I worked together and built a first model that worked but not well. Charles continued to develop the antenna and finally, at this event, proved that it could be done.
