Our Fall biannual Gray Owl 3 day is around the corner.

Here is our tentative schedule, details will be forthcoming:

Course Notes

Starts: All the courses except Brown start and finish at the house. Brown has a 500m downhill walk to their start.
Rock Garden: The Expert courses all have a set of controls in the Rock Garden with a 1:5000 inset so you can see the detail.
Legs: There is a mix of long and short legs. Blue has 3 legs 1000m+ long as well as 2 legs 100m+ long. Red is quite similar but only 2 1000m+ legs. The long legs in Green and Brown are about 600m+. They all have the sets of short legs.
Explorer Advanced includes all the controls from all the orienteering courses, as a Score i.e. in any order. The Explorer includes White – Orange plus a few expert controls.

Camping is available on the property. You may use a shower and toilet in the house. No pooping in the woods even burrying poop is not OK.

Location & Directions: 1725 Gray Owl Road, Asheboro, NC. (35.634843, -79.881873)
There is a control on our mailbox at the intersection of Hopewell Friends and Gray Owl Road.
Drive 1/4 mile on Gray Owl and take the first left turn onto our driveway.
Drive 1/4 mile to the turnaround,
Turn around and park only on the right side (east side) of the driveway as you are heading back out.
Do not drive on the grass at all! Do not park in the turnaround!
