A dozen orienteers gathered on a cool Halloween night at Schenck Forest for a good old-fashioned Vampire-O.
Four of the 12 runners were randomly selected as vampires, able to trade their
vampire map for a fresh one. After the one-hour score-O, runners re-gathered
and went out again on a half-hour score course, picking up controls and various
spooky items that had been left near them. Scores were composed of the
controls punched with the fingerstick, controls manually punched on the map,
and the number of controls returned during control pickup. Overall scores are
listed in the table below, and SI results follow.
