  • Date: March 6, 2021
    • This event will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. This is for the Saturday sign-up.
    • The same actual courses will be available on both days.
    • As an example, the Orange course on Saturday uses the same control locations as the Orange course on Sunday.
  • Location: 1725 Gray Owl Rd, Asheboro, NC in the heart of the Birkhead Wilderness.

    • Parking: You will drive about 1/4 mile on Gray Owl Rd, then turn left at the sign and drive another 1/4 mile in. Drive to the end of the driveway, turn around and park on the right side of the driveway heading out. Do not drive on the grass - you will get stuck!
  • Course Types:
    • Expert (Brown, Green, Red)
    • Advanced (Orange)
    • Intermediate (Yellow)
    • Beginner (White)
  • Beginner Class
    • We will offer beginner classes on both days. There are two arrival time slots each day reserved for beginners who are taking the class. The classes will start at 11:45 am and 12:45 pm
  • Arrival Time Slots for Saturday: 10 AM - 2:00 PM
    • You should sign up for one of the half hour time slots, and you should arrive any time during the half hour you signed up for.
  • Course Closes: 3:30 PM
  • Courses offered:
    • Orienteering - White, Yellow, Orange, Brown, Green, Red
  • Event Director: Joseph & Ruth

Waiver of Responsibility:

I, the undersigned, will wear a mask without a vent covering my nose and mouth except when running on the course, and I will maintain a minimum of 2m distance from others. I know that orienteering, as an outdoor action sport, carries significant risk of personal injury. I know that there are natural and man-made hazards, environmental conditions, and risks, which, in combination with my actions, can cause me serious, or possibly even fatal injury. I agree that I, as a participant, must take an active role in understanding and accepting these risks, conditions, and hazards. I also agree that I, and not the organizers and officials of this event, the US Orienteering Federation, Randolph County, State of North Carolina, United States Forest Service, the land owners or managers, or any sponsors, am responsible for my safety while I participate in this event. I take full responsibility for myself and/or my child. The undersigned is granted an OUSA membership for the event date/s. I also agree to follow the Covid19 safety rules: Everyone must wear a mask without a vent covering nose and mouth except when running on the course. Everyone must maintain a minimum of 2m distance from others
